
IVANA DUVNJAK AKAMATSU

Violin & Soprano
Ivana Duvnjak Akamatsu – violin and soprano, finished primary and secondary violin school in Osijek, in the class of prof. Eva Hühn, during which she won numerous awards at national and international competitions. During her violin studies, she was a scholarship recipient of the city of Osijek.
She graduated in violin in 2009 in the class of prof. AnÄ‘elko Krpan at the Academy of Music in Zagreb, and in 2021 she received her master's degree in singing at the Academy of Music in Zagreb, in the class of professor Vlatka Oršanić.
After studying violin, she trained in Vienna, with prof. Leonid Sorokov. Since 2012, she has been a part-time member of the HRT Symphony Orchestra, and frequently collaborates with the Zagreb Philharmonic, the orchestras of the Croatian National Theater in Zagreb and Osijek, the Croatian Chamber Orchestra, the Zadar Chamber Orchestra, the Mostar Symphony Orchestra and the Zagreb Youth Orchestra.
As a violin soloist, she performed with the Mostar Symphony Orchestra and the Zagreb Youth Orchestra.
As a vocal soloist during and after her studies, she performed numerous and demanding soprano roles, including the role of the Queen of the Night from Mozart's opera The Magic Flute, and profiled herself as a coloratura soprano.
She is the winner of numerous awards at competitions in Croatia and abroad. In 2018 and 2019, she won the 1st prize at the Bistrica soundscape competition in Marija Bistrica.
She is a permanent vocal soloist in the costumed musical-stage project, Mozart in the Garden.
As an instrumental and vocal soloist, she often collaborates with the Mostar Symphony Orchestra, performing works of classical and popular music. With the role of Agnetha Fältskog in Igor Tatarević's symphonic rock tribute spectacle, ABBATINOVO - ABBA Tribute Show, she confirmed her talent in vocal interpretations of popular music.
In addition to concert activity, Ivana is also successfully involved in teaching at the Music School in Novska, where her violin students are winners of numerous awards.
She is an active participant in master classes of opera diva Kammersängerin Olivera Miljaković, and since 2018 she has been performing in Vienna as a vocal soloist in the Con brio concert series.
Since 2020, she is a permanent member and one of the founders of the violin duo SHIVA BEYOND SOUND and a member of the popular string quartet Vortex Strings, with whom she records numerous performances in Croatia and abroad.
