Igor Tatarević completed his violin studies in the class of prof. Branko Košir, after which he enrolled in conducting studies in the prestigious class of maestro Vjekoslav Šutej, and graduated in 2013 (cum laude) in the class of maestro Uroš Lajovic at the Academy of Music in Zagreb.
He was a member of the Croatian Radio and Television Symphony Orchestra, and since 2003 he has been a professor at the College of Popular and Jazz Music in Zagreb, where he led musicals and stage projects in collaboration with prominent Croatian librettist Ivan Ivica Krajač.

In 2010, he founded the Zagreb Youth Orchestra (ZOM) and in the same year launched an open-air musical-stage spectacle, Mozart in the Garden, of which he is the artistic director.
In addition to numerous concerts with the Zagreb Youth Orchestra, in 2012 he held a graduation concert and at the same time made his debut with the Zagreb Philharmonic in KD Vatroslav Lisinski. With that orchestra, he made a number of other notable performances. Special mention should be made of the cooperation with the Slovenian, Zagreb and Belgrade Philharmonic under the name Pika - Točka - Tačka as part of the Mostar Spring Festival in 2013. With the Zagreb Philharmonic and prominent Croatian jazz duo Bow vs. Plectrum (Hojsak & Novosel) he recorded the Strings onlyalbum.
He is the winner of the prestigious award for the best musician of the year on the show Dobro jutro Hrvatska of Croatian Radio Television.
Igor composes theatrical and instrumental music. At the end of 2011, he premiered his rock-opera, also the first Croatian rock-opera for children, HOCUS-POCUS, based on the libretto by Ivan Ivica Krajač, at the HNK in Varaždin with great success, where he presented himself in the dual role of composer and conductor.
In addition to performances with the ZOM and the Zagreb Philharmonic, he also collaborates with the Croatian Chamber Orchestra and the Dubrovnik Symphony Orchestra.
He made his international debut in Great Britain in 2018, conducting Pergolesi's Stabat Mater in Cambridge.
Also that year, he became the chief conductor of the Mostar Symphony Orchestra, with which, in addition to numerous works of classical literature, he presented to the audience Symphonic Rock Tributes, ABBATINOVO - Abba Tribute Show and THE BEATLES - Symphonic Rock Tribute, in which he signed musical arrangements and artistic direction.
In 2020, he begins collaboration with his longtime musical colleagues, the violinist duo SHIVA BEYOND SOUND, for whom he signs musical arrangements and original compositions for 2 violins.
In 2021, the prestigious classical music radio station, British ClassicFM, included a performance of Mozart's Concerto for Flute and Harp in C major, K. 299, performed by the Croatian Chamber Orchestra under the direction of mo. Tatarević in ten most beautiful compositions for flute.
He is currently a professor at the Music Department of the Faculty of Natural, Mathematical and Educational Sciences in Mostar in the title of senior assistant. As a musical consultant, he regularly collaborates with the Croatian National Theater in Mostar and other cultural institutions.
He is the president and artistic director of the IT TRIBUTE ORCHESTRA PROJECT Association.
